The Bara taxi rank is situated outside the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital; it’s one of the busiest taxi ranks in South Africa transporting commuters to areas in Soweto, Johannesburg CBD and various other places out of Johannesburg. With this said the mood was bubbly on the way to Bara. We knew we had a busy day ahead.
On arrival the curiosity was obvious on the driver’s faces. We were ready with T-shirts in hand. When approaching them the burning questions was what filters, sparkplugs or Brakepads do they use, the task for them was to open up their taxi engines and prove whether or not they use our GUD Filters, Safeline Brakepads and NGK Sparkplugs, upon proving this a driver gets a T-shirt for their loyalty to our brands. Some of the taxi drivers would show us the Safeline container with pride as most used containers to store their left over change. For those not so loyal drivers they were given a brief talk on our products and the importance of using good quality as opposed to the cheaper imports.
Over and above the promotion was a success, the excitement filled the taxi rank and most comments from the drivers were positive, they appreciated the initiative that team Filpro together with GUD, NGK and Safeline had brought to them.
