Spare Shop Opening

Marubini Motor Spares

One of Filpro (Pty) Ltd.’s strategies is to assist non-franchised Parts Sales Centres with business growth sustainability and infrastructure.
Joyce Mogale, a female Entrepreneur from Venda found a location in Thohoyandou, where she identified a gap in the market of a spare shop that would sell OEM quality products. After conducting a survey of the area, she found that there were 12 spare shops, a majority of which were selling non-genuine spare parts, this leading to the opening of Marubini Motor Spares.

Through this initiative, Filpro joined ventures with Marubini Motor Spares as part of the Enterprise Development Strategy, aiming to create a direct linkage with wholesalers, which will sell genuine OEM Approved Parts to the spare shop. This will not only be enabling the growth of Marubini Motor Spares but will enhance development for mechanics in the area.

On the 16th of October 2013, Filpro assisted Mrs. Mogale with the store launch by hosting a customer evening, where 39 mechanics that were identified in Thohoyandou and surrounding areas were invited. Filpro assisted Marubini Motor spares with signage for the shop as well as branding for the inside of the store to attract a customer base.
The customer evening formed an integral part of advertising, showcasing the newly opened establishment. Extensive questions from mechanics on pricing, quality asked together with suggestions given on flexible operating hours were given to Mogale who will be running the shop with the help of her son as well as newly appointed staff members from the community.

Mechanics also took the opportunity to mention hardships encountered in the spare shop market, such as not being able to find genuine spare parts for their customers, thus hindering their business growth.

Marubini Motor Spares has embodied the fundamentals of the Filpro (Pty) Ltd Enterprise Development Strategy by means of alleviating poverty and empowering the community together with its economic growth
